Overview

5221ER1003A is a three-way inlet water solenoid valve specifically for LG washing machines. It has single inlet and three outlets, suitable for LG and Kenmore 796 series drum washing machines. It operates on a 220V standard voltage and is commonly used for main wash, pre-wash, and three-way water distribution for detergent. It can be replaced in case of leakage or if only one side does not dispense water.

Installation

• Close the inlet angle valve, disconnect the power supply of the washing machine, remove the fixing screws of the machine cover and lift the top cover.
• Unscrew the external inlet hose, and sequentially remove the three water outlet hoses from the valve body and the wire connector plugs.
• Remove the fixing screws of the inlet valve plate, and take out the old valve body.
• Fix the new valve in position, connect the three water outlet pipes, and plug in the electrical terminals.
• Connect the inlet pipe, run water and power on for a trial run to check for any water leakage or dripping.

Note

• Before installation, make sure to cut off the power and water supply to avoid water leakage and electric shock. The three water outlet hoses need to be connected in the original position according to the pipeline, and they must not be connected wrongly.
• Purchase the 120V/220V specification as needed. Using the wrong voltage will burn out the coil and cause the water inlet valve to fail.
• It is recommended to install a filter screen at the front end of the water inlet to reduce the wear of the sealing rubber ring inside the valve by sediment and impurities, and to extend the service life.
• After the water is turned on, conduct a no-load water test first to confirm that the water outlets are flowing normally without water leakage before installing and using the equipment.
